Graduate Intern - Center for Observational Research Osteoporosis and Cardiovascular

What You Will Do

Amgens Center for Observational Research (CfOR) is a global organization with an industry-leading analytical capability that generates Real-World Evidence (RWE) to support business needs across a products lifecycle. CfOR scientists partner with internal team members and industry experts to design conduct interpret and publish observational research that informs decision-making from the early development of a molecule to the design of clinical trials and the safety and efficacy of Amgen medicines. CfOR studies include but are not limited to evidence generation regarding the frequency and distribution of disease the clinical burden of disease the natural history or clinical course of disease treatment utilization patterns and the safety and effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

During this program you will focus on Osteoporosis and/or Cardiovascular disease research in collaboration with CfOR teams. Responsibilities may include:

• Assist with conducting literature reviews and design / execution of observational studies.
• Develop visualizations to support communicating scientific information to a variety of audiences.
• Assist in developing statistical analysis plans code lists or other documentation for CfOR studies.

Basic Qualifications:

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

• 18 years or older
• Graduated with a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
• Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Masters program for a Masters internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Masters OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
• Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
• Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a doctorate program in Epidemiology or other subject with high observational research content
• Experience in Cardiovascular disease Osteoporosis or relevant therapeutic areas
• Experience in literature reviews and the design execution and analysis of observational research studies within Public Health or Pharmaceutical setting
• Experience creating data visualizations and communicating scientific evidence to a variety of audiences
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience working in multi-disciplinary teams

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $30-$40 per hour
