JOB SUMMARY

Provides customer service and office/program support. Serves as the initial contact for customers both in person and over the phone for Division-related information.

This recruitment will be used to fill two (2) positions please review additional information below and select the position that will be a better fit for you.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of closely related experience directly related to these duties.

Due to the nature of this position the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.


A valid Drivers License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire. A valid Drivers License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six (6) months of hire to operate a county vehicle.

Preference may be give to applicants who are Bilingual in English and Spanish and requires reading writing and speaking both English and Spanish fluently.

Due to the nature of this role vaccination or proof of vaccination may be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Answers phone calls and greets visitors; relays calls and messages to the appropriate person.
  • Performs customer service functions; provides assistance regarding department/division services and information. Maintains office coverage during all business hours.
  • Assists with scheduling meetings and functions including meeting preparation correspondence material distribution client registration and client appointment reminders. Records meeting minutes.
  • Processes and issues monetary vouchers certificates and/or permits according to policy and procedures. Records transactions and issues receipts; forwards revenues and reconciles transactions according to policy and procedures.
  • Provides general office support to the Division.
  • Establishes and maintains accurate agency filing systems including purging and destroying/archiving confidential or obsolete documents according to policies and procedures.
  • Receives incoming deliveries and documents providing an accurate date stamp prior to distribution to the appropriate division or person.
  • Provides detailed information to the public regarding Division procedures.
  • Accepts Division-specific documents assists customers in data gathering and reviews late appeal criteria with customers.
  • Analyzes and maintains program reports logs and lists. Types and proofreads documents and makes appropriate corrections.
  • Supports office functions effectively utilizing computers and software.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS RECRUITMENT

This recruitment will be used to fill the following two positions:

1) Salt Lake Public Health Center located at 610 S. 200 East Salt Lake City. This position typically works Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm rotating Wednesday 9:30 am to 6:30 pm; subject to temporary change based on community and clinic needs. Travel between the five immunization clinics around Salt Lake County may be required as there are times in which an employee may need to help cover another clinic. These requests are usually not the same day.

2)This position is part of the outreach immunization team and is housed at the Southeast Public Health Center located at 9340 S. 700 East Sandy. This 40 hours/week schedule is more varied due to immunization clinics in the community around Salt Lake County. Outreach clinics are usually scheduled Monday through Saturday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with an occasional Sunday. Due to the nature of this position travel is required and applicants must have reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement available) must have the ability to stand bend sit for extended periods of time may need to lift up to 50 lbs may be required to work in various environments with uncomfortable conditions (i.e. hot cold etc.).

The ability to perform essential physical requirements such as lifting walking sitting kneeling or bending.
