Job Description
The Outreach and Student Engagement Specialist for the Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing ( PHSSN ) at McMurry University serves as a key representative of McMurry Nursing focusing on fostering meaningful connections with prospective students current nursing students and the wider community. This role is responsible for designing and implementing initiatives that enhance student engagement promote nursing program opportunities and strengthen PHSSNs visibility and reputation across McMurry University and partner institutions.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and some college required. Strong organizational skills with the capacity to balance competing demands and adapt to shifting priorities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences and collaborate effectively. Self-motivated with ability to execute job responsibilities with minimal supervision. Ability to function efficiently and meet frequent deadlines. Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information. Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent teamwork skills. Ability to learn new technology and adapt to new skills Ability to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds. Experience with Microsoft Word Excel file storage/sharing platforms such as Sharepoint/Google Drive/Teams. Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as required for recruitment and engagement events.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Bachelors degree with experience in healthcare communications education or related field. Experience working in nursing healthcare education or academic advising. Familiarity with compliance processes related to clinical placements in nursing or healthcare programs.
