Role description:

We are seeking an Intermediate TransportationDesign Engineerto join our dynamic Toronto West Office. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in roadway and transit corridor design excellent communication and proven experience delivering detailed engineering projects. This position is primarily focused on thedesign development and deliveryof transportation infrastructure working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to create innovative sustainable mobility solutions.

Role accountabilities:

• Lead and deliver detailed designfor transportation infrastructure projects including municipal roads highways LRT/BRT corridors and active transportation facilities.
• Developengineering drawings and modelsusing MicroStation OpenRoads AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prepare and reviewdesign documents construction drawings specifications and cost estimates for roadways intersections and transit facilities.
• Conductroad safety and traffic operations analysisto inform design decisions (not planning studies).
• Coordinate and integrateutility drainage and grading designsin collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure all designs are compliant with applicablestandards and guidelines(e.g. TAC Ontario Traffic Manuals MTO requirements).
• Support the preparation oftender packagesand respond to contractor inquiries during construction.
• Performquality checksfor technical accuracy and completeness prior to submittal.
• Mentor junior staff in design tasks and technical best practices.
• Maintain effective communication with clients attend design meetings and deliver technical presentations if required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (.) with PEO.
• 4-6 years of direct experience intransportation design: municipal roads highways LRT/BRT intersection improvements and active transportation infrastructure.
• Proficient inMicroStation OpenRoads AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of specialized software (e.g. Synchro AutoTurn) to support design tasks.
• Strong understanding of relevant technical standards including TAC Geometric Design Guide Ontario Traffic Manuals and the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple design tasks prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
• Excellent organizational analytical and communication skills.

The salary range for this position is $78000 - $117000. The base salary represents Arcadis hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors such as location skills experience and qualification for the role.
