Overview
Our global rail expertise spans the entire lifecycle of rail infrastructurefrom designing and building heavy rail and light rail networks to providing annual and seasonal maintenance during operations and delivering rehabilitation or construction services in a cost-effective and timely manner.
We are looking for a Senior Railway Design Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis headquarters in Montréal.
Your role
As part of the Public Transport and Rail team you will play an active role in delivering rail projects. Reporting to the Track Systems Product Line Manager you will:
Manage and coordinate technical team members to deliver projects;
Prepare plans specifications and technical documents for rail track projects;
Take responsibility for project design and ensure compliance of drawings and plans;
Act as a rail subject matter expert and support team learning and development;
Conduct technical evaluations of market products and assist project teams in preparing civil and rail work estimates;
Lead technical discussions with engineers and technicians;
Manage consulting mandates within your discipline and participate in project meetings;
Monitor project progress from planning through commissioning;
Contribute to service proposals.
About you
Hold a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and is registered as a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in rail infrastructure (heavy or light rail);
Possess in-depth and versatile knowledge of rail activities and practices (e.g. AREMA standards);
Demonstrate strong autonomy and ability to manage priorities in a multitasking environment;
Have solid knowledge of AutoDESK Civil 3D and Bentley Power RailTrack;
Be able to communicate in French and English (spoken and written)*.

*This position requires knowledge of a language other than French namely English as more than 80% of the workload is intended for clients partners or projects located outside Québec.
