We are looking for a Railway Design Engineer to join our team in Montréal Office. As part of the Public Transport and Rail team you will play an active role in delivering rail projects. Reporting to the Track Systems Product Line Manager you will be responsible for supporting the design group in preparing rail alignments producing CAD drawings and ensuring compliance of all plans and drawings.
Prepare plans and specifications for rail track projects;
Take responsibility for design based on concepts and preliminary calculations;
Oversee the production of drawings plans and technical specifications ensuring compliance with standards;
Conduct technical evaluations of market products that best meet project needs and support teams in developing detailed estimates for civil and rail works;
Manage and lead technical files with engineers and technicians on the team;
Participate in meetings and monitor project progress;
Manage consulting mandates within your discipline;
Analyze survey data and produce detailed 3D surface models;
Contribute to the development of service proposals.
Hold a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and is registered as a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in rail infrastructure (heavy or light rail);
Possess strong knowledge of AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association) standards and recommended practices;
Have general knowledge of hydrology and its impact on rail corridors modeled in 3D using route design software;
Demonstrate autonomy and the ability to manage priorities in a multitasking environment;
Be able to communicate fluently in French and English (spoken and written)*.
