EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

One to three years of clerical experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination hearing; intermittent keyboarding use of wrists hands fingers speaking typing and writing. Frequent filing sitting standing and walking.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to use a computer for word processing and spreadsheets. Excellent organization skills attention to detail and demonstrated customer service skills. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and the ability to establish rapport with students and school families.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

1. Answers the telephone and takes messages.
2. Assists students and visitors as they come into the office area.
3. Prepares written correspondence.
4. Prepares certificates and reports for all activities and clubs.
5. Maintains records for faculty attendance budget information purchase orders and the physicals for athletes.
6. Orders and distributes supplies and materials.
7. Checks purchase orders and records materials as they come in.
8. Processes timesheets for hourly employees.
9. Enters data into the computer: athletic physicals office referrals schedules discipline records and health forms.
10. Successfully completes First Aid CPR and SD Board of Nursing approved Medication Administration training and certification.
11. Provides care/first aid for students with injury and/or illness. Care could be emergent or non-emergent in nature.
12. Completes district accident reports.
13. Provides care for students with chronic health conditions in accordance with students care plan as delegated by the school nurse. Care could be emergent or non-emergent in nature.
14. Obtains authorization logs and dispenses medication to students as delegated by the school nurse.
15. Processes student immunizations in accordance with SD state law and district procedures.
16. Communicates with DOC and court services regarding student attendance
17. Operates and troubleshoots office machines.
18. Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or assistant principal.

Level IX starting at $20.45 per hour

Pay Day: Last working day of each month.

HOURS & FTE

Monday through Friday7:00 am to 4:00 pm with aone-hour minute unpaid lunch
