As part of a growing account Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are looking to increase our Engineering capability to respond to an increase in demand for a new client account. We are therefore recruiting for a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer who will be the Technical Lead for Tooling Equipment.
As a Technical Lead you will be involved in developing an engineering capability with responsibility for managing and delivering tooling engineered solutions. This work supports current and future tooling requirements for the nuclear defence sector.
Your Missions
Leading engineering teams from FEED Concept through to Detail Design with generation or management of technical files containing all required documentation.
Support development and growth of a tooling capability within a growing client base.
SQEP assess scopes of work from client and deploy within the engineering team.
Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including client representatives.
Apply current Legislative Regulations (e.g. LOLER PUWER CDM Regulation Machinery Directive PED) and respective Engineering Standards (ASME BS EN).
Deliver tooling equipment via DfM (Design for Manufacture) within the Supply Chain and maintain a track record of managing the supplier as an Intelligent Customer.
Qualifications :
Experience / Qualifications Required
Demonstrable evidence (3yrs) of managing and delivering engineering projects in tooling-related industries including experience in managing and developing multi-discipline teams.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage engineering teams and interface effectively with multiple levels of internal and client stakeholders.
Proficiency in a CAD system (NX) and PLMs (Teamcenter) to manage the tooling delivery team and their deliverables.
Experience providing technical authorship within a Bid proposal process and Bid management experience.
Experience in estimating planning and budgeting for multi-discipline programmes of work.
Able to demonstrate nuclear professionalism and best practices or experience in a highly regulated sector.
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance to Nuclear Industry standards with desirable experience delivering plant & systems.
Experience defining and managing Requirements Capture Validation and Verification.
Ideally experienced in nuclear industry tooling: operational tooling bespoke jigs tools and fixtures lifting and handling equipment and tooling for transportation and storage protection.
Experience applying current Legislative Regulations (LOLER PUWER CDM Regulation Machinery Directive PED) and Engineering Standards (ASME BS EN).
Good understanding of UKCA Marking (CE marking) Security and Safety Classifications QA/QC grading for Tooling.
Experience delivering tooling equipment via DfM within the Supply Chain and managing suppliers as an Intelligent Customer.
Desirable: experience across full tooling life cycle Construction Commissioning Installation and Handover processes.
