As a RIBA Registered Practice we employ over 450 Architectural staff across the UK working on project across the globe.

We have over 25 architectural staff in our Glasgow office with a particular expertise in Education Commercial Energy Defence and Residential. Architectural staff include Architects Architectural technologists Interior Designers Landscape Architects and Building Surveying professionals with a balanced team of graduates through to senior professionals and directors. People are the heart of our success and supporting training and mentoring our staff is paramount to AtkinsRéalis remaining at the forefront of design and innovation. AtkinsRéalis Architects are very interested in harnessing the creative power of individuals who would like to be involved in exciting projects with the company.

AtkinsRéalis offers Senior Architects the opportunity to be a part of exciting projects working with a national and global network of creative individuals all with the share aspirational goal of design excellence. The role would be ideal for those looking to take ownership of multiple projects to run from concept through to delivery whilst including managing a small team of assistants.

Your role

  • Our primary focus is to ensure our architects are challenged towards professional growth within a new team exposing Architects to the multi-disciplined environment and client facing opportunities.
  • To manage and inspire a team through strong and inclusive leadership.
  • Sustaining and developing relationships with existing and new clients.
  • To ensure design responses are pragmatic and respond to the client brief whilst respecting the opportunities and constraints that each site affords through climate context and culture.
  • To continue to develop designs that are firmly rooted with a strong narrative and that seek to enhance our reputation.
  • Lead projects by providing design and technical leadership for major projects.
  • Reporting on activity and analysis of feedback and success factors.
  • Development of the design culture and capability of our multi-disciplinary design team(s).

About you

  • RIBA Part 3 qualification and ARB registration with strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction types.
  • Proven track record across multiple sectorspreferably Education Health Defence Residential and Publicworking directly with clients contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage projects from concept through detailed design to completion including compliance and key detail development; Accredited Conservation Architect preferred but not essential.
  • Skilled in Revit Adobe Suite Enscape or V-Ray AutoCAD and familiar with NBS specification and UK construction methodologies.
  • Consistent experience delivering projects of varying scale and complexity managing roles packages budgets and coordinating multidisciplinary teams and consultants.
  • Strong ability to prepare high-quality design deliverables and present effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Support and coach Part 1 and Part 2 staff driving design quality and contributing to team and leadership development.
  • Organised detail-oriented efficient under pressure flexible self-motivated collaborative and passionate about design excellence.
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships secure new business and lead bids to support market growth.
  • Actively involved in successful delivery of secured projects and proactive in supporting studio leadership.

Security clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
