Functional Consultant (Salesforce)

Overview:
The Functional Consultant (FC) is responsible for facilitating requirements development sessions to understand customers current processes and technology within the CRM ecosystem and for supporting the design and implementation of Salesforce-based solutions. This role bridges business needs and technical execution ensuring that every engagement delivers measurable value and aligns with CRM best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate discovery and requirements sessions to analyze current-state business processes pain points and opportunities for improvement in CRM practices.

• Lead design discussions with technical teams and document solution options including business process diagrams wireframes and contextual models.

• Build and maintain a clear requirements development strategy for each engagement.

• Lead discovery and solution workshops including presentations demonstrations and process reengineering sessions.

• Identify and catalog customer process gaps and improvement areas aligned with Salesforce best practices.

• Define and document user personas and user stories.

• Collaborate with offshore teams ensuring smooth communication and alignment across time zones.

• Perform business process modeling user experience modeling and basic technical architecture diagramming.

• Interpret business and technical roadmaps to develop detailed Salesforce-based solutions.

• Build and demonstrate prototypes in Salesforce to validate designs and business requirements.

• Guide customers through user acceptance testing (UAT) planning and execution.

• Leverage cross-functional teams including UX Change Management Global Development Centers and developer communities to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Technical Expertise:

• Strong understanding of Salesforce capabilities limitations and best practices.

• Hands-on experience implementing and configuring Salesforce Service Cloud and Experience Cloud.

• Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party applications and performing data migrations.

• Ability to synthesize technical and business information and communicate solution options confidently to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree required.

• 8 years of experience as a CRM Business Analyst or Product Owner in mid-to-large organizations.

• 5 years of Salesforce consulting experience leading business transformation initiatives.

• Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Proven experience developing level-of-effort (LOE) estimates with technical teams.

• Excellent presentation communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Familiarity with enterprise integration tools and ETL solutions.
