Job Summary
Join Our Team as an Automation Process Specialist at Johnson Electric!
Location: Ancaster Ontario (onsite)
Travel: Occasional travel to support implementation at other sites
As our next Automation Process Specialist youll lead the design programming and implementation of advanced automation systems. Youll drive innovation mentor technicians and ensure high operational efficiency across manufacturing processes.

What Youll Be Doing:
Design and implement new automated systems aligned with operational goals
Write and debug complex automation programs
Develop long-term strategies for automation improvements
Mentor junior and intermediate technicians
Research and implement cost-effective innovative automation solutions
Lead the automation team and manage project resources
Conduct maintenance and preventive schedules to ensure >95% line availability
Drive continuous improvement to achieve >95% OEE
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 ISO 9001 and JEs safety and environmental policies
Perform other duties as required
What Were Looking For:
Diploma in Automation Engineering Technology Mechatronics Computer Science or related field
5 years of experience in automation systems design programming and implementation
Experience leading and mentoring technical teams
Bonus Points If You Have:
Proficiency in PLC SCADA Python or similar automation programming tools
Strong understanding of automation architecture and system design principles
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
