Job Description:
As a System Engineer on the DBW (Drive-by-Wire) project you will be responsible for the design integration and validation of advanced electronic control systems. This role involves hands-on machine testing at Proving Grounds and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver next-generation machine control capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and manage system and software requirements for DBW systems.
Develop and maintain system architecture documentation.
Conduct on-machine testing tuning and validation of control systems at Proving Grounds.
Use tools like CANape MATLAB/Simulink and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) systems for validation.
Support field testing and troubleshoot system-level issues.
Develop and optimize control algorithms for hydraulic powertrain and steering systems.
Work with communication protocols such as J1939 CAN and XCP.
Interface with system software and hardware teams.
Provide technical updates documentation and support for software releases.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors or masters degree in electrical Mechanical or Electronics Engineering.
5 8 years of experience in system engineering for off-highway automotive or industrial machinery.
Strong understanding of sensors solenoids actuators and embedded control systems.
Experience with model-based development (MATLAB/Simulink).
Familiarity with DBW systems and safety-critical control systems is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with heavy equipment.
Exposure to machine control systems including autonomous or semi-autonomous features.
Hands-on experience with machine testing and validation in proving grounds or field environments.
