The World Food Programme (WFP) the worlds largest humanitarian agency and has maintained a long-standing presence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pakistan for over three decades. WFPs operations in KP have focused on strengthening disaster management capacities promoting climate resilience and supporting vulnerable food-insecure and malnourished populations.
In line with Government priorities WFP is implementing the Benazir Nashonuma Programme (BNP) under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). This flagship initiative aims to reduce malnutrition by providing targeted nutrition support to pregnant and lactating women and children. The programme directly contributes to WFPs broader goals of improving food security and nutrition outcomes in the region.
PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer (M&E) WFP Provincial Office Peshawar and overall supervision of the Head of Provincial Office KP WFP the Monitoring Assistant will perform monitoring activities in the areas of livelihoods climate resilience education nutrition and any other WFP activities in the province in line with WFP corporate M&E requirements and regulations.
1. Verify the planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items report issues or discrepancies to the supervisor for timely resolution of problems and to ensure that the quantity distributed and the quality of the operation is in line with WFP standards.
2. Maintain information records and monitor plan documentation such as records of commodity movements and programme checklists in order to assist in the effective delivery and distribution of food items or non-food items.
3. Collate assistance programme(s) data in accordance with clear direction in order to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
4. Liaise with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.
5. Receive and collate comments and feedback from cooperating partners and beneficiaries to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations.
6. Provide guidance for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices monitor tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.
7. Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation.
8. Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance
The incumbent will perform the following tasks.
Education:
Completion of Secondary Education. First level university degree in Public Administration Social Sciences Economics & Statistics is an advantage.
Experience:
Four or more years of experience in Monitoring & Evaluation. Field work experience in any sector of social development.
Ability to produce good quality report coupled with good analytical skill
Experience analyzing programme output and outcome data.
Knowledge & Skills:
Good Command on MS-office Ability to effectively communicate with beneficiaries and the district authorities. Knowledge of local context/language/ geographic areas etc. is preferable
Languages:
Fluency in English Urdu and language of the duty station.
