JOB TITLE: Programme Assistant (Nutrition)

TYPE OF CONTRACT: Service Contract

DUTY STATION (City Country): Peshawar Pakistan

DURATION: 08 months

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Programme Assistant will support the Benazir Nashonuma Programme (BNP) (and additional Nutrition Programmes e.g. CMAM If initiated) through timely data collection management and reporting from Facilitation Centers (FCs). The role ensures quality information flow operational tracking and coordination with partners and government counterparts to strengthen nutrition service delivery. The Programme Assistant will report to Head of Nutrition Unit PO Peshawar.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform specialized and/or standardised processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.

  • Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFPs policies and procedures.

  • Within the specific area of responsibility compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports (e.g. food assistance needs resource utilization programme status performance) in order to support operational decision-making.

  • Perform accurate timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporate standards and guidelines.

  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.

  • Support communication and activities with local partners agencies NGOs and government institutions.

  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary.

  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.

OTHER POST REQUIREMENTS:

  • Collect clean and validate nutrition data from BNP FCs and partner facilities.

  • Ensure timely entry into BNP- Weekly reports COMET and WFP databases including End of Year SPR Data base as well as 5W mapping of Nutrition working groups.

  • Generate reports info graphics dashboards (Including BNP Dashboard) and visuals to support programme planning and donor reporting.

  • Track monthly progress and provide data for Standard Project Reports (SPR).

  • Act as focal point for BNP Beneficiary allocation and SNF operational plans in line with FLA/AWP targets.

  • Prepare and share monthly/Quarterly and Annual Work plans/FLAs operational targets with CPs and Govt staff.

  • Maintain records of caseloads coverage and partnerships in COMET.

  • Follow up with CPs for timely submission of food distribution and expenditure reports.

  • Coordinate with partners and CO units for continuous supply of RUSF/SNF/RUTF and Iron Folic supplements including tracking dispatches and near-expiry stock.

  • When required Support SO-2 team and Finance with partner expenses WINGS entries and invoice processing Financial spot checks of CPs.

  • Provide inputs for Beneficiaries/SNF tonnage specific targets/costings of budget preparation and agreements.

  • Provide guidance to CP and Govt staff on BNP data tools and reporting formats. Including orientation/refresher trainings on nutrition reporting and programme protocols. (Online or face to face as advised)

  • Liaise with CPs District Govts and DoH to ensure achievement of planned targets with particular reference to Planned targets vs Achievements Data. Support M&E in evaluating CP performance based on the Data base information. (plans vs achievements)

  • Contribute to midterm/annual reviews of BNP nutrition activities and other donors reports through provision of Data trends and info graphics

  • Assist in prioritization of districts/union councils for new interventions with Govt and CPs using the Demographic data and information from available sources For example: Flood affected districts prioritization based on Govt PDMA data

  • Any other tasks/responsibility assigned inline with the job role

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

  • BNP Data Reporting Complete accurate and timely FC datasets (monthly/quarterly/annual) with 95% reporting rate.

  • Updated COMET entries operational plans and SNF utilization records.

  • Reporting & Communication Dashboards/infographics inputs for monthly updates donor briefs and SPR.

  • Reports on commodity dispatch/utilization near-expiry stock and CP financial submissions (Data presented in tabulated formats for ease of read)

  • At least 2 trainings/orientations conducted for CPs/Govt/WFP staff

  • Documentation of support to emergency nutrition responses updated 5 W and reporting as required for the emergency data templates (if applicable).

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

Bachelors degree preferably in Data Science/Information management or Nutrition with added computer/data skills

Experience:

5 or more years of experience in Nutrition/health data management; BNP or CMAM/TSFP experience an asset.

Knowledge & Skills:

Proficiency in Excel and data visualization; knowledge of COMET WINGS BNP. Experience with NGOs/UN coordination and report preparation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Accuracy attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with Govt/partners.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Team-oriented proactive and accountable.
