of Job Duties:The Assistant Professor of Adult and Lifelong Learning is a 9-month tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Counseling Leadership and Research Methods in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas. The duties and responsibilities of this position include: teaching graduate courses in adult and lifelong learning; conducting research that results in refereed publications and professional presentations; pursuing external funding; chairing/serving on doctoral advisory and dissertation committees; and engaging in service activities in the program department college university and professional/scholarly organizations. Consistent on-campus presence and active engagement in departmental life are essential functions of this position. Extensive in-person engagement in activities such as office hours collaborative work and departmental college and university committee meetings is expected to advance departmental effectiveness and support the college and universitys mission.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate from a nationally recognizedandaccredited institution in adultandlifelong learning or a closely related field conferred by the start of employment

  • An established or emerging research agenda focused on adultandlifelong learning outside of the for-profit workplace community college leadership adult basic education and literacy adult and lifelong learning policy adult development or any other area closely related to adult education

  • Evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g. publications presentations grants)

  • Ability to teach graduate courses related to adultandlifelong learning community colleges or adult basic education and literacy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in adult education or community colleges

  • Graduate teaching experience

  • Online teachingand/or learning experience

  • Experience submittingand/or securing external funding

  • Expertise in quantitative research methods
