The role
This is an Aboriginal Identified rolewhere Aboriginal identity cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977).
We need someone to bring their cultural capability and lived experience as an Aboriginal person to this role. As part of the recruitment process we will ask you to provide documentation to confirm your Aboriginality and your capability will also be assessed through the recruitment process.
The Engagement Officer role focuses on supporting the Departments Native Title team by leading projects and engagement activities that strengthen relationships with Aboriginal communities across NSW. Youll work alongside stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in a way that respects cultural knowledge and priorities while providing clear advice and practical solutions.
The work involves navigating complex and sensitive issues managing timeframes and building trust through open and respectful communication. Success means listening deeply applying guidelines thoughtfully and creating outcomes that reflect the voices and aspirations of Aboriginal peoples.
