Job Summary
We are looking for a result-oriented and experienced SeniorRelease Manager forour Manulife Hong Kong lead and coordinate software releases across multiple projects teams and platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth planning scheduling and execution of releases while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Release Planning & Coordination
- Develop and manage release schedules in collaboration with Project Management Development Business Analysis and Testing teams.
- Coordinate release activities across multiple insurance platforms and multiple environments.
- Ensure releases align with business priorities and regulatory requirements.
- Process Management
- Define and continuously improve release management processes tailored to system lifecycles.
- Maintain comprehensive release documentation including plans checklists and post-release reviews.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulatory standards.
- Risk & Issue Management
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with releases especially those impacting core insurance operations.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for release-related issues.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for release-related communications.
- Facilitate release readiness reviews go/no-go meetings and post-release retrospectives.
- Provide clear and timely updates to business and technical stakeholders.
- Insurance System Expertise - Nice to have
- Leverage deep understanding of insurance domain systems (e.g. policy administration claims processing underwriting platforms customer platforms and agency platforms).
- Collaborate with business analysts and system owners to ensure release readiness and minimize operational impact.
- Monitor and manage dependencies across insurance applications and third-party integrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field.
- 5 years of experience in release management preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of insurance system architecture and workflows.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing multiple releases in a complex regulated environment.
- Fluent English Speaking
