The JM Family and Southeast Toyota Distributors College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program you will actively contribute to your teams success learn about JM Familys companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities networking events and much more.
The ideal candidate will be available to work 32-40 hours a week beginning as soon as February 2nd 2026. This role is open to students who are currently enrolled in a graduate-level program and seeking an internship while in school and for the summer. The Project Management internship is scheduled for February 2nd 2026 - August 14th 2026 with a possibility to extend into the Fall semester.
This internship will include projects and tasks that relate to Southeast Toyotas Vehicle Processing Centers project work including projects related to communications technology processes and people. Interns will work closely with our Operations team to support the planning execution and evaluation of various projects that are essential for our business growth and associate satisfaction. You will assist with tasks such as data analysis process improvement stakeholder communication risk management and project management. You will also have the chance to learn from experienced professionals who will mentor you and provide feedback on your performance. Lastly you will also contribute to the success of our operations by delivering high-quality results and proposing innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
Project Documentation: Help in creating and maintaining project documentation. This includes project plans schedules status reports and meeting minutes. Documenting lessons learned and best practices from the project for future reference. Lead project management Standard Job Instruction documentation efforts.
Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling meetings booking resources and managing project-related emails and communication. Interns may help organize and coordinate project meetings including setting agendas sending out invitations and recording meeting minutes.
Data Entry and Analysis: Update SharePoint and Power BI pages including data entry and audit for accuracy. Meet with Project Leads Supervisors and Managers to review associate time allocations and ensure projects are up to date with notes and project status.
Communication: Assist in maintaining effective communication between team members stakeholders and clients. This can include updating project status reports and ensuring everyone is informed about project developments. Assist all levels of associates with understanding the project management discipline.
Process Improvement: Interns may be tasked with identifying areas where project management processes can be improved and making recommendations for enhancements.
Assisting with Project Execution: Participate in the planning and implementation of projects and initiatives within the Vehicle Processing some cases interns may be given the opportunity to participate in project execution tasks such as coordinating with team members tracking task progress and contributing to problem-solving efforts.
Research: Research best practices industry trends and project management tools or software that can benefit the project team.
Risk Management: Assist in identifying and assessing project risks and helping the project manager develop risk mitigation strategies.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards by performing quality checks and reviews.
Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in managing relationships with project stakeholders gathering feedback and ensuring stakeholder needs are addressed. Partner on new project charters and steering committee prep.
Project Closeout: Interns may assist in the project closeout process including preparing final reports conducting post-project evaluations and archiving project documentation.
Professional Development: Receive guidance training and mentoring from senior personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments. Will be required to shadow operations and work with all levels of associates and leaders. Attend assigned training sessions workshops or webinars related to project management.
Qualifications:
This is a full-time in-person position with the occasional opportunity to work remotely.
Able to work onsite at two of our Jacksonville FL locations between the hours of 6 AM and 4 PM EST.
Hours are flexible during the spring semester.
Available to work at least 32 hours per week up to 40 hours a week.
The ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a graduate-level degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university with a focus in operations management business administration engineering project management or program management. (Qualified candidates actively enrolled for a degree in a related field will also be considered and must have completed at least one semester of classes.)
