About the role:

Part time Welfare Reform Officer Monday to Wednesday 18 hours must have full specialist knowledge and experience of Welfare Reform in particular Universal Credit Housing Benefit DLA and PIP legislation and regulations.

To assist residents in increasing their income and claiming backdated benefits applying for LWA and DHP working alongside the rent office and Citizen Advice Bureau.

Ensuring that the resident submits all the required documentation to support their applications.

To have full knowledge of the benefit legislation for universal Credit PIP DHP LWA benefit caps and rent arrears procedures including court action.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with residents and team members in the rent team reporting to line manager on cases and ensuring that there is a maximization of rent and benefit income . Increase in tenants in work and able to sustain their tenancies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Specialist knowledge and experience of Welfare Reform in particular Universal Credit Housing Benefit DLA and PIP legislation and regulations

Degree or equivalent or vocational qualification in relevant subject or area

Evidence of Continuous Professional Development

Numeracy and literacy qualification e.g. GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.

Relevant professional qualification

Good verbal and written communication
