HIRING A MECHANICAL ENGINEER - HEALTHCARE IN HOUSTON
DBR is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join the team in Houston. This role is ideal for an individual with solid experience in HVAC air and hydronic design for small to large size complex healthcare facilities. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in design production team mentorship and project execution from concept through construction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering design with at least 3-4 years focused on healthcare facility design (e.g. hospitals clinics surgical centers).
- Preferred qualifications include holding a current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Day-to-day involvement in mechanical design production for healthcare projects including HVAC medical gas plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Well qualified Revit modeling knowledge and experiences Bluebeam and AutoCAD production tool use knowledge.
- Collaborate effectively with and coordinate design efforts among internal teams external consultants and clients.
- Understand and contribute to the management of project budget scope and scheduling.
- Possess excellent communication skills to interface effectively with owners clients and other consultant contractors.
- Mentor and guide younger engineers and designers serving as a technical role model and elevating the teams overall expertise.
- Knowledge of healthcare-specific codes and standards including FGI Guidelines and relevant NFPA standards.
- Active participation in the design and construction administration (CA) phases of projects.
- CA duties include attending project meetings reviewing shop drawings/submittals and providing timely responses to RFIs.
- Ability to manage multiple project tasks concurrently and consistently deliver high-quality design documents.
- Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.
