The University of Otago invites applications for the position of Kaiawhina Whare/Sub Warden across the Universitys network of Colleges and UniFlats.

Who we are/Mō te tīma

The Campus and Collegiate Life Services Division is privileged to lead a group of world class services at the University of Otago dedicated to promoting the unique Otago experience and collegiate nature of the institution including Residential Colleges and UniFlats.

The role/Te mahi

Kaiawhina Whare/Sub Wardens assist with the provision of pastoral and administration duties to support the operation of the Universitys residential Colleges. They enhance the environment to maximise the safety well-being academic success and personal growth of the Residents.

It is a requirement of the role that candidates are enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Otago.

The majority of roles require living-in at a College although a small number of live-out roles are available.

Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

These roles are ideal for students looking for leadership opportunities as they will require you to act as a role model mentor and leader within the College community at all times.

You will gain experience in teamwork event management pastoral care and time management. You will also have the chance to positively influence and support first-year and international students as they integrate into Otago.

These are fixed term (to November 2026) variable hours positions all located in Ōtepoti Dunedin.

The University is offering a remuneration level commensurate with the responsibilities of the position
