As a Words First Educational Psychologist you will play a vital role in supporting students parents and teachers within the UK school system. Your knowledge and understanding of the educational landscape will be instrumental in promoting positive learning environments and addressing the diverse needs of students.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students educational emotional and psychological needs.
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to develop tailored intervention plans and strategies.
- Offer guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective teaching strategies and accommodations for students with special educational needs.
- Contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives to enhance the overall well-being and academic success of students.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the creation of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in educational psychology to inform your practice.
Qualifications:
- A recognized postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Educational Psychologist.
- Experience working as an Educational Psychologist in UK schools preferably within different educational settings.
- Good knowledge of the UK educational system.
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills with experience conducting psychological assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students parents and educational staff.
- Ability to provide evidence-based interventions and support for students with a range of needs.
- A commitment to promoting inclusivity diversity and equal opportunities in education.
- Flexibility to travel between schools within London and the home counties as required.
