Are you an experienced Principal Practitioner Psychologist looking for a leadership role in Older Adult Mental Health This is a fantastic opportunity to join a servicein beautiful Carmarthenshire where youll play a pivotal role in shaping specialist care pathways for our aging population.

Youll work across community and inpatient teams ensuring high-quality psychological care and supporting workforce development. We welcome applicants who may not yet meet all Band 8b competencies you can still apply! Successful candidates will be appointed under Annex 21 and supported with a tailored development plan for up to four years.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of high-quality psychological services across older adult mental health settings.
  • Take responsibility for clinical professional and managerial governance for psychological practitioners.
  • Lead on specialist psychological assessments formulations interventions and evaluations.
  • Provide expert clinical supervision to psychologists psychological therapy practitioners and non-psychology staff.
  • Identify and address training needs supporting workforce development.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and contribute to service improvement projects.
  • Apply expertise in psychotherapeutic modalities and clinical risk management including suicide prevention and care pathways.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Significant experience in psychological assessment formulation and intervention.
  • Skills in clinical supervision and service development.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with older adults or transferable skills from other populations.
  • Knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities and risk management strategies.
