Position Summary

The Student Success Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and enrolled students throughout their complete academic journey from initial inquiry through graduation and alumni engagement. This role combines admissions counseling student success coordination and process optimization to create seamless data-driven experiences that maximize enrollment conversion and student retention at the college level.

Working with Slate CRM Banner SIS Salesforce and emerging AI technologies this position manages PSC-wide activities including admissions workflows onboarding processes student experience surveys intervention programs and graduation/alumni engagement. The coordinator leverages predictive analytics and automated systems to provide proactive support while maintaining the personalized service that defines the College of Professional Studies experience.

This role focuses on institutional-level processes and systems that support all PSC programs differentiating it from Program Enrollment Specialists who provide specialized high-touch academic advising and career development for specific program populations. This position will report to the Director of Admissions and Student Success.

Essential Functions

Admissions & Enrollment Management (30%)

  • Comprehensive Admissions Counseling: Provide end-to-end admissions guidance to domestic and international prospects managing the complete application process from inquiry through enrollment decision
  • Conversion Strategy Implementation: Utilize Slate analytics and behavioral data to identify high-intent prospects and implement targeted outreach campaigns that optimize application-to-enrollment conversion rates
  • Application Processing Excellence: Manage document processing transfer credit evaluation and admission decision communication with enhanced efficiency through automation tools
  • International Student Support: Provide specialized navigation support for international applicants leveraging AI translation tools and cultural competency frameworks

Student Success & Retention Coordination (25%)

  • Predictive Intervention Systems: Monitor college-wide engagement metrics and academic performance indicators using Salesforce and Banner analytics to identify at-risk students and implement proactive support interventions
  • Academic Probation Case Management: Lead collaborative case management for students on academic probation coordinating with academic advisors to develop comprehensive success plans
  • Student Experience Survey Management: Administer analyze and implement interventions based on college-wide student experience surveys and satisfaction data
  • Onboarding & Transition Support: Facilitate smooth transitions from admission to enrollment and from program completion to alumni engagement

Process Optimization & Analytics (20%)

  • Workflow Design & Automation: Support development of automated email sequences chatbot responses and automated follow-up systems that provide timely relevant information based on student behavior patterns
  • Data Analytics & Dashboard Management: Maintain dashboards using Salesforce analytics and reporting tools to track conversion metrics retention indicators and student satisfaction trends
  • Cross-Platform Integration: Connect disparate systems (Banner Slate Salesforce LMS) to create comprehensive student profiles that inform college-wide intervention strategies
  • Performance Assessment: Conduct A/B testing and cohort analysis to evaluate effectiveness of admissions and retention strategies

Community Building & Experience Enhancement (15%)

  • Virtual Community Development: Design and facilitate college-wide virtual events networking opportunities and peer connection programs using CrimsonConnect and MS Teams
  • Specialized Population Support: Coordinate enhanced services for international students first-generation college students veterans and non-sponsored students through targeted programming
  • Technology Support & Troubleshooting: Serve as first-line support for students navigating university systems and resolving experience barriers
  • Alumni Engagement Coordination: Manage graduation processes and initial alumni engagement activities to maintain institutional connection

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement (10%)

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with marketing IT academic departments and Enrollment Experience Managers to ensure consistent messaging and seamless student experiences
  • Best Practice Development: Research and implement emerging technologies and evidence-based practices in student success and enrollment management
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Provide support and insights to other team members while serving as subject matter expert on college-wide processes and systems

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Technical Competencies
  • Proficiency interpreting enrollment data identifying trends and translating insights into actionable strategies
  • Basic experience with AI tools LLMs or automated communication platforms
  • Comfort with virtual platforms automation tools and emerging digital communication channels
  • Experience with CRM systems (Slate/Salesforce preferred) student information systems (Banner) and comfort learning new AI-powered tools
  • Experience interpreting data identifying patterns and translating insights into actionable strategies
  • Basic experience with AI tools LLMs or automated communication platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage diverse populations and explain complex information clearly
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues develop creative solutions and work independently with minimal supervision

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years in student services customer success data analysis or related field with demonstrated impact on user/client outcomes
  • High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in student services customer success data analysis or related field with demonstrated impact on user/client outcomes
  • Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional certifications in project management operations or related areas

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is 8.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for the position is $25.55 - $30.65.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
