Job Summary

The Town of Avon seeks qualified applicants for a year-round Parks & Recreation Director to lead and manage that department. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the planning development maintenance operation of the public parks and courts and recreation programs to enhance recreation for residents and visitors of the town. The Director oversees all aspects of the Summer Program including supervising staff members. Candidates must enjoy working with children and demonstrate excellent communications skills as position requires considerable interaction with the public and Park & Recreation Commission. Must have an associates degree in a related field and 3-5 years of experience in public or physical education environment with two years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination. This position requires a flexible work schedule with some evening and/or weekend hours needed for events. This is a full-time position with benefits. The starting salary pay range is $55000 to $65000.
