GetUp is looking for a Content Producer / Digital Storyteller with strong content and communication skills to work on our campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity for someone near the start of their career as an activist or someone looking to make the jump into full time activism.
While GetUp has a large and active supporter base which we primarily reach through email our reach is currently much lower in social media channels. Given our ambitious vision this needs to change. A successful GetUp content producer will be adept at turning ideas into high impact creative content which can engage members across various platforms and amplify our campaigns with a particular focus on video content.
SCHADS classification Level 4-5 with salary $88099.44 - $100783.28 per annum superannuation. This is a 12 month fixed term role ideally based in Sydney or Melbourne but with an openness to great candidates located anywhere in Australia. The role has the strong possibility of becoming ongoing.

GetUp works on a range of campaigns in the areas of First Nations Justice Climate Justice Economic Fairness Human Rights and Democratic Integrity. Whatever we do - from making sure hundreds of thousands of people are able to vote to successfully stopping major projects threatening the environment or securing billions of dollars in new funding for mental health we do it with as many people as possible using their hands hearts and voices to fight for justice on the issues that matter most.
GetUp is currently several months into a significant rebuild following the last Federal the last few months GetUp has been engaging more people in its campaigns and raising more money from its supporters than at any other point in the last few years on a range of important issues from Freedom of Information to climate to gambling ads to Gaza. Hiring for a number of new roles including this one is a key part of that rebuild and ensuring that GetUp is well placed to have a very significant impact in the years ahead.
GetUp is full of talented campaigners who lead the organisations efforts to create a more progressive Australia. The campaigns team prides itself on deep strategic thinking as well as the ability to seize crucial change moments that make a massive difference on our issues.
Their days are filled with analysing the political state of play developing long-term and rapid-fire strategy engaging with politicians media and affected communities spotting the right moment to intervene running impactful tactics including everything from protests to undercover investigations writing hard-hitting copy and coming up with creative ways to give our members the best chance for impact.
Creativity is expected in this role. A portfolio showcasing your work on content or campaigns will help us understand your creative range and approach.
