POSITION: Systems Support Technician
DEPARTMENT: Information Systems
BASE RATE: $21.77 per hour with potential for additional compensation based on qualifications.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing systems support for internal and external customers by gathering information resolving problems and/or escalating the issue to the appropriate Information Systems (IS) team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follows established Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP) policies and procedures objectives safety standards and sensitivity to confidential information.
2. Monitors requests received through the IS help desk via work-ticket system phone email fax or in person and utilizes the work-ticket system to document all issues and resolutions.
3. Responds quickly and effectively to requests for technical assistance and resolves problems to the end users satisfaction for both internal staff and external customers (members and providers); escalates issues as necessary.
4. Maintains documentation of applicable internal processes and procedures.
5. Researches questions using available information resources and maintains a database of resolutions and/or publishes resolutions to an online Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) resource for internal and external customers.
6. Maintains a reporting process for departmental work-ticket/project-related statistics and provides regular reports to UPHP management staff.
7. Supports organization-wide applications such as Intranet updates website content accessibility software recording software training software fillable forms etc.
8. Supports member provider and health information exchange portals for account activation login assistance basic functionality questions vendor ticket entry and communication; escalates as necessary.
9. Responsible for reoccurring tasks (daily weekly monthly etc.) within the department such as downloading files uploading files monitoring system tasks and routine processes.
10. Maintains security accounts for designated applications such as Dashboard Tableau and Process Manager.
11. Attends educational seminars as required; maintains knowledge of current systems utilized for both internal and external clients.
12. Maintains confidentiality of client data.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Minimum:
Associate degree in information technology or related field; three (3) years of relevant experience in
lieu of a degree will be considered
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in information technology or related field
Experience
Minimum:
One (1) year of experience in an information systems or technology-related environment; relevant post-
secondary coursework will be considered in lieu of professional IT experience.
Preferred:
Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in an information systems or technology-related environment

Keyboarding proficiency and advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word Excel Access PowerPoint)

Basic SQL/query knowledge
Basic Adobe knowledge
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) knowledge
