Oversees and organizes all operation activities during normal production for responsible area. Leads all team members to implement production safely efficiently and accurately based on safety regulations standard operating procedures checklists quality standards production plans etc. Assists with implementation of lean methodology and/or health safety & environment practices. Coordinates maintenance issues with the maintenance department and oversees safety during maintenance if necessary. Works with other personnel to complete equipment isolation flushing replacement inspection commissioning etc. Communicates with team members on all issues. Provides performance evaluation input to supervisor. May work as a backup to positions in a shift group.

Requires advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and may require vocational or technical education. Responsibilities may include: Working under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily operations. Training delegating and reviewing the work of lower level employees. Problems are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.
