Were seeking an Engineering Manager to be a force multiplier for our Platform and Engagement squad. This isnt a role for a hands-off manager; its for a pragmatic and empathetic leader who will grow and guide the team responsible for the most critical parts of the SCW user experience. You will be instrumental in setting technical strategy mentoring a talented team and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our core platform. In this role you will:
- Lead mentor and grow a high-performing team of engineers fostering a culture of psychological safety operational excellence and continuous learning.
- Drive the technical and architectural strategy for the core platform ensuring our systems (built with TypeScript and JavaScript) are scalable reliable and secure for the long term.
- Partner with product and design leaders to shape the roadmap for critical user-facing features from authentication and user management to product trials and integrations.
- Empower your team by running effective team rituals removing blockers and ensuring alignment with company goals operating with a high degree of autonomy to drive project success.
- Coach and develop engineers on their career paths elevating the teams capabilities through architectural guidance constructive feedback and by championing modern engineering best practices.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery for the Platform and Engagement domains directly impacting user acquisition retention and the overall quality of the SCW experience.
Who you are:
- A seasoned engineering leader (7 years of experience) with a strong software engineering background and a proven track record of managing and growing engineering teams.
- You possess a strong technical foundation in modern web development with deep expertise in the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem you can confidently guide architectural decisions and mentor engineers.
- A natural force multiplier who measures success by the teams impact and growth not just your own contributions.
- An empathetic and effective leader who excels at building inclusive high-trust environments where engineers can do their best work.
- An excellent communicator and strategic partner who can collaborate effectively with product design and other cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.
- You are pragmatic thrive on taking ownership and have a history of driving complex projects to successful completion.
