The School Bereavement Program Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the Blue Butterfly school program(s) across the entire Empath Health footprint. This position ensures the collaboration with School Bereavement Advocates in each region within Empath Health providing quality programs compliant with all pertinent state and federal regulations and current standards of practice
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes articulates and models the vision mission and values of the organization.
- Communicates with and reports to the Director of Blue Butterfly.
- Provides support and leadership through collaboration with the Director of Blue Butterfly to all Blue Butterfly School Bereavement Advocates within the Empath Health footprint.
- Provides oversite and collaboration with each Empath Health Grief Care team to launch Blue Butterfly School Program in each territory.
- Collaborates with the Blue Butterfly Managers and the Blue Butterfly Director to review and provide updated appropriate curriculum for all 8-week school-based Blue Butterfly programs.
- Monitors the applications for school-based Blue Butterfly programs and assists the Blue Butterfly School Bereavement Advocates with the inputting of computer documents when needed.
- Reviews the training curriculum for school personnel and contracted group facilitators and updates the curriculum through collaboration with the Blue Butterfly Managers and the Director of Blue Butterfly.
- Serves as the liaison with the respective Empath Foundations to provide needed data for grant funding and grant reports and collaborates with other Empath foundations to support expanding the school program(s).
- Develops relationships with each school district and the participating school in the Blue Butterfly program and demonstrates program knowledge to support the Blue Butterfly School Bereavement Advocate.
- Actively seeks out ways to engage the community about the Blue Butterfly school program(s) and accepts speaking engagements to promote the mission.
- Maintains an operating budget and collaborates with the Blue Butterfly Director when additional funds are needed.
- Maintains confidentiality according to all Empath standards and legal requirements.
- Creates an environment in the workplace conducive to trust and open communication.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/BA in Counseling Bereavement Social Work or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated success in event planning or community outreach experience healthcare field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years experience working with schools school districts or school boards.
- An equivalent of professional experience and education may be considered to meet position qualifications.
- Continuing education: As required for licensure.
- Employee may be required to sign a Business Protection Agreement.
