Summary: This is an advanced professional legal and supervisory position performing legal services for the Lehigh County District Attorney. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the office ensuring efficient case management attorney performance and compliance with office policies and legal standards. This role combines leadership management and legal expertise to guide strategic growth and maintain the highest standards of service and ethical practices.
Work includes supervising attorneys administrative staff and support staff to ensure productivity quality and professional development. It also includes developing updating and implementing office policies procedures and workflows to enhance efficiency.
Additionally this position will oversee recruitment hiring onboarding and training of attorneys administrative staff and other support staff. This Senior Attorney position will be responsible for conducting regular performance evaluations and providing mentorship and guidance while fostering a positive inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.
This position reports directly to the District Attorney.
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Performs legal research and prepares opinions on various legal issues for the Office of the District Attorney.
- Collaborates with the office leadership team to set strategic goals and initiatives.
- Participates in budgeting forecasting and fiscal compliance.
- Oversees case assignments workload distribution and deadlines to ensure timely high-quality job performance.
- Monitors litigation and compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Serves as senior counsel on complex or high-profile cases as needed.
- Collaborates with law enforcement agencies courts victim services and community organizations to enhance justice outcomes.
- Ensures adherence to all state bar rules court requirements and office policies.
- Prepares and presents evidence and witnesses to the Grand Jury as needed.
- Supervises prepares and presents cases for trial in the Court of Common Pleas.
- Mentors and supervises the subordinate members of the office.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Senior Attorney has supervisory responsibility for approximately 10-15 direct reports.
All applicants must have a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
