We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Field Guide. The role primarily involves providing guests with a memorable and safe safari experience while supporting the smooth daily operations of the lodge and reserve. This position requires professionalism enthusiasm and a positive team spirit.
Field Guiding & Guest Experience
Conduct guided game drives nature walks and interpretive experiences in accordance with reserve and safety standards.
Host guests professionally ensuring a warm engaging and informative safari experience.
Assist with guest check-ins check-outs and transfers.
Take photographs or videos for lodge marketing use when required.
Operational Support
Maintain safari vehicles and ensure vehicle logbooks are accurately completed.
Participate in general reserve and lodge duties including:
Road and fence maintenance
Game capture support
Lodge maintenance tasks
Staff transport and delivery pickups
Assist with tour operator site inspections and guest welcomes when needed.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the lodges guest experience and operational efficiency.
Uphold lodge standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
CATHSETTA Nature Site Guide NQF2
Valid PDrP and First Aid certificate
DEAT registration (up to date before commencement)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional positive and can-do attitude
Strong teamwork ethic and willingness to assist in all aspects of lodge life
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications (negotiable starting from R7000/month for a junior guide excluding tips)
Accommodation: Private single quarters with en-suite bathroom
Meals: Provided while on duty; staff kitchen available for self-catering when off duty
Leave Cycle: Preferred 3 weeks on / 1 week off
Alternative 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off can be considered for strong out-of-province candidates
