Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Lead Data Scientist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data science principles and a passion for leveraging data to drive business decisions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The teams portfolio focuses on anomaly/fraud detection and field services use cases. We take complicated business problems dive deep into the data and processes associated with those problems and create both classification/regression and generative/agentic solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the driving force behind technical solutions-wrangle data build models define production parameters and continuously enhance performance.
- Lead and mentor junior data scientists while guiding the business toward a more technically driven future.
- Apply key system design principles to optimize for cost and efficiency wherever possible.
- Be an integral part of the field services team-gain deep understanding of daily operations identify challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Have a strong understanding of AI/ML and be able to advocate for new ideas and changes to the current roadmap.
- Be willing to innovate particularly on complicated undefined problems. We often are given an outcome and it is our job to find the way to take the business there.

Critical Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer science Statistics Mathematics Data Science Engineering or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5-10 years of relevant work experience in a data science or analytics role.
- Prior experience as a technical lead or Senior/Principal/Staff engineer is preferred.
- Experience working in a cloud environment; GCP is preferred though cloud skills are recognized as transferable across platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Familiarity with various data frameworks especially Beam and Dataflow.
- Experience with popular machine learning libraries (e.g. scikit-learn TensorFlow PyTorch)
- Experience with a major Generative AI platform such as VertexAI Agent Space.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the telecommunications industry or applying technical problems to operational/supply chain problems.
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
