Job Summary
AECOM has an immediate opportunity available for a Quality Assurance Laboratory Manager for employment in Panama City Panama.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage day to day lab operation and verify testing requests and prepare work forecast.
- Carry out laboratory tests as required including concrete and aggregate and advanced soils testing procedures.
- Perform advanced soils testing (i.e. consolidation UCS rock testing triaxial and direct shear).
- Ensure testing quality and train junior staff.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained in accordance with specifications and perform calibrations and routine repairs of laboratory instrumentation.
- Maintain an organized laboratory environment including soil inventory and equipment.
- An understanding of ASTM and CSA Standards.
- Participate in the CCIL and MTO Proficiency Testing.
- Prepare laboratory testing reports.
- Supervise and lead QA/QC Construction testing and inspection including field staff orientation and prepare technical reports.
- Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts suppliers subcontractors engineering consultants and other external agencies.
- Prepare proposals for medium to high complexity projects for various geotechnical scope of work.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in related field 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Relevant experience with Dam projects including inspection rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
- Experience in performing inspection design and/or engineering activities in dams or water retaining structures
- Experience with laboratory soil testing procedures ranges from low to high complexity
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
Additional Information :
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years or more experience including relevant experience with Dam projects including inspection rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
- Excellent interpersonal skills staff supervision strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Excellent written communications and presentation abilities in internal project settings with the project team external project stakeholders and leadership.
