ABOUT YOU
We are hiring a highly motivated individual to join the Allied Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) as Staff Assistant (Course Manager).
In this role you will be responsible for the JSEC training course management. You will provide support in the preparation and conduct of Individual and Team Training measures as well as in the preparation conduct and post-processing of conferences meetings and other events. You will regularly utilize JSEC related e-learning tools act as POC for the NATO School and coordinator for the NCI academy. You will develop maintain and further develop the e-learning solutions for JSEC e.g. an e-learning solution for Newcomer Inductions Trainings. Your work plays a key role in successfully contributing the ETEE efforts and your successful performance has a crucial impact on implementing the ETEE program objectives. You will serve as Branch Admin and conduct a wide range of administrative duties. You will fill-in/assist the Staff Officer TREX Budget with regard to the management of Education Training Exercise and Evaluation (ETEE) budget.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate must have
Higher Secondary education and intermediate vocational training which might lead to a formal qualification with 2 years experience or Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
Profound professional experience in an administrative role (to include event/conference management training coordination and administrative support to a team);
Working knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems;
A good command of English both written and spoken.
The following would be considered as an advantage:
Experience in an international/military organization;
Any further training certificates and courses related to subject field or acquired through NATO;
Experience in/ familiarity with developing and using e-learning tools platforms and reporting tools;
Experience in training management tools;
Experience in/knowledge of Information and Knowledge Management tools and principles;
Experience in providing support in managing budget (i.e. training budget);
Experience providing support for projects.
YOUR ROLE
Plan JSEC course requirements and to request NATO courses and trainings at NATO Education and Training Facilities (ETF).
Advise JSEC Division Training Officers in all matters of NATO course planning.
Coordinate and to administrate the NATO training course participation.
Contribute to the J7 ETEE fund managers compilation of the course budget.
Serve as the single Point of Contact for NATO ETFs e.g. NATO School Oberammergau and as Unit Training Coordinator for the NATO Communication and Information Academy
Participate at ETF conferences and meetings.
Develop maintain and further develop necessary JSEC related e-learning tools at the Joint Advanced Distributed Learning platform in close coordination with the responsible Divisions.
Support the preparation and conduct of JSEC Individual and Team Training measures and activities as directed by the Branch Head Training.
Fill-in the Staff Officer TREX Budget with regard to fund execution and the Staff Officer Individual Training.
Serve as the Branch Administrator.
Contribute to all organisational measures of the branch including preparation conduct and post-processing of conferences meetings and other branch events.
Be prepared to take additional duties and responsibilities as ordered by Branch Head Training or Assistant Chief of Staff J7.
Participate as member in project teams or working groups as directed or assigned.
YOUR SKILLS
Possess good interpersonal and communication skills together with tact and diplomacy;
Ability to plan schedule and oversee multiple training providers programs efforts and activities while ensuring smooth process execution.
Accuracy in maintaining records within area of responsibility.
Handling scheduling or other conflicts calmly and diplomatically.
Ability to manage complex situations last minute changes or new priorities without losing control.
Ability to manage processes in a self-responsible timely accountable and accurate manner.
Ability to provide clear guidance and advice in your field of expertise for working groups and other audiences.
Must have the ability to act on own initiative and propose innovative solutions to immediate and long-term problems without close supervision.

YOUR TEAM
Headquarters JSEC provides a resilient operational-level Joint Headquarters capable of supporting 24/7 operations to coordinate enablement (at the operational level) and on order the execution of reinforcement by forces (RbyFo) and sustainment flow in order to contribute to the Alliances ability to project and sustain combat power into a Joint Operations Area (JOA).
The Plans Directorate (PLANS) prepares and manages the development of functional planning based on the guidance received by the Commander the assessments provided by the Operations Directorate and the liaison activities contributing to strategic and operational level planning. The J7 Division is responsible for planning coordinating and executing the HQ ETEE as well as contributing to NATO ETEE based on the Global Programming and the NATO Force Training Model requirements. The Training Branch is responsible for providing the Education and Individual Training (E&IT) required by the HQ and informs and contributes to NATO E&IT

CONTRACT
Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.
Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter an indefinite duration contract might be offered.

Salary values indicated in this vacancy notice are based on NATOS Single Salary Spine scale;
