This is an opportunity to lead the transformation of QFDs operational technology ensuring our systems are modern stable and ready to support frontline operations when Queensland needs them most.

Join us as an Executive Manager (AO8) and help deliver reliable innovative and future-focused solutions for one of the states most vital emergency service functions.

Your opportunity

As the Executive Manager State Operations IT Solutions youll provide strategic and operational leadership to the team responsible for delivering and supporting the systems that underpin QFDs operational readiness.

In this pivotal role you will:

  • Lead the planning delivery and ongoing improvement of IT solutions that enable operational excellence.
  • Oversee a team of specialists and contractors providing support for critical response and coordination systems.
  • Manage the delivery of key technology projects including large-scale system transitions and platform replacements.
  • Build strong relationships with operational leaders executive stakeholders and partner agencies to ensure technology aligns with business needs.
  • Drive service quality risk management and compliance using ITIL and project management best practice.
  • Foster a culture of accountability innovation and continuous improvement within the team.

What youll bring

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading IT operations and service delivery in a complex mission-critical environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
  • Proven leadership of diverse technical teams and external vendors to achieve high-quality outcomes.
  • Experience managing large-scale system transitions or replacements ideally within government or emergency services.
  • Sound understanding of ITIL service management and project methodologies such as PRINCE2 and Agile.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology Business or related disciplines (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
