Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning project team and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity quality and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers line managers and clients. Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices techniques and standards. General application of concepts and principles. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.
This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. Coast Guard MDEQ and EPA regulations as they apply to the shipbuilding industry. The position will lead programs related to spill prevention emergency response drills and tank inspections.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with U.S. Coast Guard environmental regulations drills and regulatory facility inspections
Serve as the primary point/lead of contact for spills and response activities
Maintain and implement SPCC FRP Contingency plans and other response plans
Conduct tank inspections and coordinate tank integrity testing
Conduct training for Coast Guard and EPA regulations
Conduct environmental inspections audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues or improvement opportunities
Participate in Incident Command System (ICS) training and structured drills
A High School Diploma/GED with 11 years of experience OR Bachelors Degree in related field with 3 years of experience ORMasters degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience.
HAZWOPPER Certified
8 years of shipbuilding or industrial experience
