Overview of the Role

Join a dynamic team driving critical business intelligence initiatives in the energy sector! As a Senior Business Analyst youll bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams leading the implementation of cutting-edge Power BI dashboards and data analytics solutions. This role offers the unique opportunity to impact operational excellence in nuclear energy operations while working with advanced analytics platforms and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirements Management & Documentation

Create and document detailed business requirements for Power BI reports and dashboards
Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather functional and non-functional requirements
Develop user stories acceptance criteria and technical specifications
Maintain requirements traceability matrices and change control documentation

2. Data Analysis & Source Evaluation

Analyze new database sources feeding into Power BI & AI generated dashboards
Assess data quality completeness and business relevance
Document data lineage business rules and transformation requirements
Collaborate with data engineers to validate data integrity and performance

3. Testing & Quality Assurance

Develop comprehensive test plans for Power BI reports and data validations
Execute user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate testing activities
Validate business logic calculations and dashboard functionality
Document defects and work with development teams for resolution

4. Business Process & Improvement

Map current state and future state business processes
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Facilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions
Support change management and user adoption activities

5. Stakeholder Management

Serve as primary liaison between business users and technical teams
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
Facilitate cross-functional meetings and decision-making sessions
Provide regular project updates and status reporting

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Business Information Systems or related field
5 years of business analyst experience in data/analytics projects
Strong experience with Power BI data visualization and reporting tools
Proven expertise in SQL database analysis and data validation
Experience with requirements gathering documentation and testing methodologies
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development processes
Excellent analytical communication and presentation skills

Preferred:

Experience in utility/energy industry
Familiarity with JIRA Confluence
Previous experience with database migration or dashboard implementation projects
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
