Job Summary

Day Shift 7am - 7pm

The Patient Care Tech CNAwill work within our Observation/Clinical Decision Unita 20 bed observation unitthat works closely with the Emergency Departments 32 bed unit. The CDU provides an alternative to discharge or hospital inpatient admission for the emergency department patient who may benefit from an extended observation period (generally less than 24 hours). Patients of all age ranges who are not ill enough to warrant immediate inpatient hospital admission but are also not well enough to return to their place of residence may need additional monitoring diagnostic evaluation and/or treatment in an observation unit/CDU prior to disposition.

ThePatient Care Tech / CNA performs routine and specialized tasks in providing direct patient care under the functional direction of a registered nurse:

  • Observes monitors reports and documents patients condition symptoms and reports to nurse as appropriate.
  • Assists with patient care such as personal hygiene special skin care ambulation transfer and treatment procedures including enemas ostomy care oral suctioning catheterization bed making and sterile dressings.
  • Observes and monitors vital signs.

Requirements:

  • CPR certification required
  • Maryland CNA licensure required

Salary Range: Minimum 19.49/hour - Maximum 30.22/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
