PLATO has offices on or near Indigenous communities across Canada in Fredericton Sault Ste Marie Ottawa/Gatineau Regina Prince Albert Calgary and Vancouver.
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our dynamic professional services team. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning implementation and tracking of IT projects from initiation to closure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background excellent organizational and leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget. This role requires an individual who can work on-site or hybrid depending on project requirements with our clients in Regina or Winnipeg. While the frequency may vary (e.g. 1-2 days per week or fulltime onsite) candidates must be within a commutable distance to these cities.
What youll do
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IT projects through the entire project lifecycle ensuring adherence to scope schedule and budget.
- Define project scope goals and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans schedules and budgets to track progress and report on project status.
- Coordinate resources including team members vendors and consultants to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Manage project risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
- Monitor and report on project progress to stakeholders including regular updates and formal presentations.
- Facilitate project meetings and scrum ceremonies as needed to keep project team on track
- Conduct root cause analysis make recommendations for continuous improvement and steer project towards success.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment
- Ensure compliance with company policies procedures and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work with the team to develop and deliver status reports proposals requirements documentation and presentations.
- Develop best practices for project management and share with the PMO Team
- Mentor motivate and supervise project team members
What youll need
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Project Management or related field.
- Proven experience (7yr) as a Project Manager or similar role managing complex ERP implementations
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall Hybrid).
- Experience working on Project Management tools (e.g. MS Project Jira Trello Asana Monday Basecamp Smartsheet etc.)
- Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience managing budgets resources and project timelines.
- Relevant certifications like PMP CSM etc. is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent client facing communication skills both verbal and written.
- Understanding of different leadership styles to lead teams and guide stakeholders.
- Emotional Intelligence to deal with conflicts.
- Highly organized adaptive to change strong inclination to continuous learning.
- Candidate must be local to Regina or Winnipeg with flexibility to travel to client sites as needed
