As a Senior Database Engineer you will lead the design development and optimization of complex database systems that drive mission success. Youll oversee the architecture implementation and performance of data solutionsensuring security efficiency and scalability across the enterprise.
You Will Excel In This Role If You Are:
- A strategic thinker who can translate business needs into advanced data solutions
- Skilled in both relational and object-oriented database design
- Confident leading database development efforts across multiple environments
- Experienced in balancing performance scalability and security in large-scale systems
A Day In The Life Consists Of:
- Leading database design development and implementation across multiple projects
- Directing the creation of database parser and loading software
- Designing and optimizing complex database structures that align with system architecture
- Managing data flow storage retrieval and analysis to support mission-critical operations
- Directing the translation of requirements into database schemas using scripts queries and macros
- Overseeing the development of cloud-based database systems using Open Database Connectivity
- Guiding performance tuning version control and configuration management best practices
- Evaluating and directing improvements to database processes storage efficiency and reliability
Must Haves:
- TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- Ten (10) years of relevant experience
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- Five (5) additional years of DBE experience may substitute for a bachelors degree
Nice To Haves:
- Advanced experience with cloud-based and distributed database environments
- Strong understanding of database performance optimization and data governance
- Experience with version control configuration management and CI/CD integration
- Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers in database best practices
