Veterinary Technician - Emergency
Metropolitan Animal Emergency and Specialty Center is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Technician youll play an important role in pets lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests to surgery assistance to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Must have Emergency Veterinary clinical experience
- Strong communication skills required
An Associates or Bachelors degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
- Must be proficient in phlebotomy; able to obtain prepare and interpret laboratory samples including but not limited to blood feces urine skin etc
- Must be confident in IVC placement and maintenance
- Must be proficient in blood smears cytology preparation and interpretation
- Must be familiar with and confident in common radiographic positioning techniques and image capture
- Must be familiar with CPR; candidates with RECOVER BLS/ALS certification encouraged to apply
- Must have experience and confidence in administering anesthesia and monitoring patients during anesthetic events

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at$24 -$28/hour if non-credentialed $34-$36/hour if credentialed. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills qualifications experience and location.
