Job Description Summary
The Immunology Laboratory Instructor is responsible for facilitating evening laboratory sessions for the Medical Laboratory Technology program. This instructor ensures that students develop the technical and professional competencies required in immunology through hands-on instruction demonstration and evaluation. The instructor will follow the established curriculum and lab exercises maintaining safety accuracy and instructional quality.
Duties
Conduct scheduled evening laboratory sessions in accordance with the established MLT curriculum and course objectives. Supervise and instruct students in proper laboratory techniques instrumentation safety procedures and quality control. Ensure compliance with all institutional OSHA and NAACLS laboratory safety standards. Provide guidance and clarification on course material as needed though primary lecture instruction is conducted by another faculty member. Evaluate student performance through observation practical assessments and grading of all laboratory assignments and reports. Maintain accurate records of attendance grades and student progress in compliance with program and college policies. Prepare the laboratory for each session ensuring all materials reagents and equipment are properly set up maintained and secured. Promote a positive and professional learning environment that fosters critical thinking accountability and respect. Collaborate with the Program Chair and instructional team to ensure course continuity and consistent delivery of learning outcomes. Participate in required faculty meetings and training sessions as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors Degree ASCP MLS Certification 2 years laboratory experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Science 5 years Laboratory Experience Blood Bank Experience
