Were hiring a Coordinator Equipment & Supply and Medical Device Reprocessing at Providence Health Care!
In this dynamic and hands-on role youll provide leadership expert advice and operational oversight to ensure the effective management of equipment supplies and medical device reprocessing across perioperative areas anaesthesia surgical clinics and the Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD).

At Providence Health Care our Coordinators play a key role in supporting safe efficient and high-quality surgical and reprocessing services.

What youll do:

  • Lead and support staff by coordinating daily operations and identifying training needs.
  • Oversee equipment and supply planning procurement and standardization to meet clinical and budget priorities.
  • Manage inventory maintenance and service contracts to ensure safe and cost-effective operations.
  • Uphold quality safety and infection prevention standards in line with accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams leadership and vendors to resolve issues and improve efficiency across PHC sites.

As a floating resource youll provide flexible coverage and expertise across Providence Health Care including the Medical Device Reprocessing Department and the Medical Equipment & Supply service helping to drive innovation standardization and excellence in patient care.

What You Bring

Education Training and Experience:

  • Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing RN
  • Three years recent related experience in perioperative nursing medical device reprocessing operating room practice in a large acute care facility interventional radiology or cath lab; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • Completion of a medical device reprocessing theory course supply chain or related equipment management training would be considered an asset.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices organizational policies and standards of care within a medical device reprocessing and acute care environment.
  • Skilled in supervising teaching and supporting staff learning while fostering teamwork collaboration and effective communication.
  • Proficient in operating instruments equipment and relevant computer applications with sound decision-making and analytical abilities.
  • Experienced in purchasing inventory and supply chain management ensuring efficiency quality and safety in daily operations.
  • Adaptable and organized with the ability to manage change resolve conflicts and align staff skills with clinical needs and priorities.

Your Day to Day:

  • Supervises and supports designated staff by coordinating daily operations monitoring performance and identifying training orientation and professional development needs.
  • Provides coaching mentoring and technical guidance to staff resolving workflow and clinical challenges within perioperative areas and the MDRD.
  • Coordinates equipment and supply planning including needs assessments product evaluations vendor relations and procurement aligned with clinical and budget priorities.
  • Leads standardization initiatives and process improvements to enhance cost-effectiveness quality safety and consistency across the Surgical Program.
  • Oversees inventory management maintenance schedules and service contracts to ensure reliable safe and cost-efficient operation of equipment and supplies.
  • Develops and evaluates quality safety and infection prevention standards ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborates with physicians nurses vendors procurement and leadership to align equipment and supply management with organizational goals and clinical needs.
  • Contributes to budget planning technology assessment and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency cost savings and innovation.
