Job Summary
Job Title: Travel RN Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Rochester NY
Duration: 13 weeks (extendable)
Shift: Nights 12-hour shifts 3 nights per week
Pay Rate: $2383 weekly gross
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) for a travel assignment in Rochester NY. The ideal candidate will provide skilled patient care in a high-acuity medical-surgical and telemetry unit managing complex patient needs and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.
Administer IV insulin titrate insulin drips and follow insulin protocols.
Provide care for feeding tubes continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and post/pre-hemodialysis management.
Administer blood products and manage central peripheral and PICC lines.
Start IVs and follow heparin protocols.
Manage cardiac drips (without titration) PCA and substance withdrawal protocols.
Care for patients with surgical drains chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur Evac) ventilators CPAP/BIPAP HFNC oxygen masks and tracheostomies.
Apply isolation precautions and provide wound care including Wound Vac management.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to monitor assess and document patient care.
Utilize EMR systems for charting; EPIC experience preferred required for first-time US travelers.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required.
Strong clinical assessment critical thinking and patient management skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.
Certifications & Licensure:
AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) Required
Active NY State RN License Required
