RN Med/Surg Telemetry Per Diem (Days)
Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe and effective patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit with the ability to float to Telemetry as needed. The RN utilizes the nursing process of assessment planning implementation and evaluation to deliver direct patient care within scope of practice. This role includes monitoring patient condition communicating clinical changes to physicians and supporting patient and family education while maintaining unit standards of care.
Key Responsibilities -
Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg patients and float to Telemetry within competency as needed.

Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments and document findings accurately.

Monitor patient condition including cardiac monitoring when assigned to Telemetry.

Communicate changes in patient status to physicians including diagnostic results and symptom development.

Administer medications treatments and interventions safely and accurately.

Respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.

Provide patient and family education related to care plans treatments and discharge needs.
-
Guide and support activities of nursing personnel and assistive staff.
-
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
-
Adhere to infection control safety standards and patient privacy requirements.

Perform additional duties within scope as assigned.
Qualifications -
Current and valid state RN license.

Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
-
Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
-
Minimum 1 year of previous acute care hospital experience.
-
Meditech EMR experience preferred.

Ability to float to units of competency including Telemetry.
