Youll coordinate the development and communication of the Wet Tropics Report Card manage stakeholder relationships and drive initiatives that contribute to the Reef 2050 Long-term Sustainability work closely with the Independent Chair Management Committee and a passionate team to deliver impactful outcomes for waterway looking for someone who is: Experienced in leading complex multi-stakeholder projects. Skilled in strategic planning budgeting and reporting. Knowledgeable about waterway health and natural resource management. An excellent communicator across scientific and non-scientific audiences. A relationship-builder who thrives in collaborative environments. Able to work independently and proactively. Selection CriteriaAuthority & Accountability Proven ability to effectively lead and manage a significant complex project in collaboration with a wide range of partners and stakeholders being respectful of differing perspectives whilst forging a way forward. Demonstrated project management experience including planning and strategic development budgeting monitoring and reporting to a board or management committee. The ability to meet strict project deadlines and Skills Demonstrated ability to supervise staff or provide direction to others to establish priorities and manage completing deadlines for self and Knowledge & Skills A sound knowledge of waterway health issues in the Great Barrier Reef region and the collective effort including Government investment and regional delivery that has been and is being applied to its improvement. Competency with the use of a range of Microsoft Office products and project management Skills Excellent facilitation negotiation and partnership building skills across a wide range of sectors including industry local government community groups research organisations and the private sector. Demonstrated experience collaborating with related groups or organisations. Proven experience in providing secretariat support to committees and the communication of scientific information to non-scientific stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain healthy and productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver programs or projects across a wide range of sectors. Outstanding communications skills and the ability to deliver messages in writing and verbally including using a range of digital communications options including mainstream media social media and & Problem Solving Proven ability to operate at a high level of independence and apply effective creative problem-solving and/or strategic planning approaches. Ability to recognise/identify potential conflicts develop strategies to avoid or minimise conflicts and facilitate solutions and conflict resolution Health & Safety Knowledge of relevant workplace health and safety considerations and demonstrated awareness of requirements for employment equity ethical conduct and the Anti-Discrimination & Experience Relevant degree or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential. Considerable and demonstrated knowledge and experience in the planning delivery monitoring and evaluation of natural resource management strategies plans and projects. Significant and proven project management skills and experience including the ability to develop and work within budgets meet deadlines motivate staff and maximise results from limited of the role Based out of Cairns Tully Innisfail or Atherton. Part-time (58 65.25 hours per fortnight negotiable) Fixed term until October 2026 Flexible working arrangements including working from home.
