Our client an EU-licensed Payment Services and E-Money Institution provides innovative technology-driven financial services for both consumer and corporate clients. They are seeking a Finance Operations & Reconciliations Officer to join their team in Malta.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy compliance and efficiency in daily financial operations reconciliation processes and transactional activities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily weekly and monthly reconciliations across banking acquiring and other partner transactions.
Monitor customer funds and safeguarded accounts on a daily basis.
Assist with the management of treasury balances including prefunded accounts with partners.
Support daily transactional processing within the finance team.
Contribute to monthly management reporting financial reporting and preparation of external reports.
Support regulatory reporting to authorities such as the MFSA and Central Bank of Malta.
Maintain and update the Financial Operations Manual and related procedures.
Assist with audit requests and liaise with internal and external auditors.
Provide financial support to non-finance teams to improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports as requested by the Head of Finance and senior management.
Requirements
- 24 years experience in a similar role within financial services ideally in an EMI.
- Higher Education Qualification in Accountancy or equivalent; final stages of ACCA also considered.
- Strong English communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Desirable: experience with card acquiring/processing and understanding of different payment methods (Cards APMs etc.).
