Job Summary:
The Learning Support Department at Griffith College provides academic and accessibility support to learners with disabilities and learning differences ensuring that all students can participate fully and succeed in their programmes.
The department offers a welcoming and inclusive environment where learners individual needs are addressed confidentially and professionally. Through collaborative discussion appropriate accommodations and supports are identified to help each learner achieve their academic potential.
Learning Support is available to students across all Griffith College campuses and partner institutions. Support typically begins with an individual Learning Needs Assessment to identify specific requirements and appropriate accommodations. Learners have the opportunity to access ongoing one-to-one support a weekly drop-in clinic and workshops focused on key academic skills throughout the academic year.
The Learning Support Tutor will contribute to this provision by delivering targeted academic support through individual sessions and group workshops helping learners build the skills and confidence necessary for success in their studies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting with conducting Learning Needs Assessments
- Delivering one-to-one academic support via structured sessions with individual learners
- Delivering key skills workshops to groups of learners registered with Learning Support
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with college policies
Minimum Education / Experience Requirements:
- A minimum level 9 qualification.
- Has experience of supporting students with disabilities in a busy educational setting.
- Has experience delivering targeted learning support to enhance student success.
- Strong understanding of neurodiversity.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organisation skills.
