Job Summary
Seeking a highly motivated empathetic and organized Patient Coordinator to join our team. This full-time remote position is the first point of contact for our patients and plays a crucial role in delivering our commitment to service excellence. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with outstanding communication skills dedicated to ensuring a seamless and supportive experience for every patient.
Core Responsibilities
- Patient Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients via phone email and secure patient portals. Answer patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Scheduling: Manage all aspects of patient scheduling including booking new patient consultations follow-up appointments and procedures. Handle rescheduling and cancellations efficiently.
- Patient Intake: Register new patients collecting and verifying all necessary demographic and insurance information. Ensure all digital patient records are accurate and up-to-date in our EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system.
- Insurance & Billing Support: Assist patients with questions regarding their insurance coverage co-pays and billing. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
- Care Coordination: Facilitate communication between patients and our clinical team (doctors nurses and medical assistants) ensuring patient messages are relayed accurately and triaged appropriately.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient referrals request medical records and provide patients with necessary pre-appointment instructions and reminders.
- Tech & Telehealth: Confidently navigate our EMR scheduling software and telehealth platforms. Assist patients with basic technical support for accessing our patient portal or virtual appointments.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in a patient-facing role such as a patient service representative medical receptionist or patient coordinator preferably in a clinic or hospital setting.
- Must have a private quiet and distraction-free home office space that is HIPAA-compliant.
- Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on empathy and customer service.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems scheduling software and standard office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Google Workspace).
- Ability to work independently manage time effectively and be a reliable member of a remote team.
- Excellent English skills and ability to be understood clearly and friendly outgoing personality
Preferred (Not Required):
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field.
- Experience in a remote healthcare or telehealth role.
